‘pieces of nothing’

pieces of nothing
deadly wings
a desperate pleading
the pain of the sting

an assumption of benefit
causal distress
the pieces don’t fit
end up with less

potency of nightmare
tell-tale tang of poison
another empty stare
all lost all gone
